The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) will host 15 trade shows and conferences in May, covering an array of sectors from automotive to aviation, travel and tourism, hospitality, investment and consumer products. This series of events, strategic to Dubai’s economic agenda, is set to attract thousands of local, regional and international exhibitors and 150,000 visitors, highlighting the continued growth of Dubai's Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) sector.
The variety of shows, in addition to the high-level participation from global and regional companies is the international business community’s endorsement to the strength of Dubai’s economy. The Emirate is a gateway to the region, and continues to draw businesses in significant numbers that are looking to expand into the Middle East and beyond.
Arabian Travel Market (ATM) began yesterday and will be held until 3 May. The event has grown over its 19-year history to become one of the region's largest travel and tourism exhibitions. Over 250 exhibitors from 90 countries are participating, showcasing their vibrant cultures, products and services.
Alongside ATM, four other shows will open today and run until May 3: Professional Audio and Lighting Middle East (PALME) Exhibition, Middle East Event Show 2012, Dubai International Property and Investment Exhibition & Conference and the second edition of the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM), organised by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade.
AIM, the region’s first Emerging Markets Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)-focused event offers a blend of trade fair and intellectual features. It welcomed more than 20 Ministers of Economy and Trade to the event today. AIM is aimed at enriching institutional, corporate and individual investors attending with a set of guidelines for their future investment decisions in high growth regions. It will attract delegates from 45 countries, who are a mix of high profile government officials, private asset owners and project promoters from across the globe.
Three events will take place from 8 - 10 May: Vision-X Dubai, Arabia Shop and Hardware & Tools Middle East, and 15 – 17 May will see Tetra World Congress, The Office Exhibition and The Hotel Show at the DWTC.
The TETRA World Congress, a meeting place of the international crisis communications community, is being held in the Middle East for the first time in its 14-year history. TETRA is a standard solution for groups that use private or professional mobile radio (PMR) or public access mobile radio (PAMR) technology. It is important in the areas of law enforcement and public safety, where fast and accurate field communications to and from a central office or dispatcher are often critical. This high-profile international congress reinforces Dubai’s position as a leading global conference destination.
Five exhibitions will take place at DWTC in the last week of May: The Airport Show and Automechanika will be held from 22-24 May, while Beauty World Middle East, India Sourcing Fair and China Sourcing Fair will be held from 29-31 May.
In its 12th year, the Airport Show has grown to become one of the largest airport construction, operations, technologies and services events in the world, and continues to generate interest among experts and stakeholders from the aviation industry.
China Sourcing Fair and India Sourcing Fair will provide a platform for export-ready suppliers to meet potential buyers from across the world including the Middle East, North Africa and South East Asia.
The event schedule for May is an indication of DWTC’s ability to attract top-tier exhibitions across a variety of sectors, and is testament to DWTC's drive to strengthen its position as a leader in the global exhibition and conference industry.
