Dubai is honoured to welcome this biennial event to the UAE. Last held in Kyoto in 2017, the World Congress of Neurology (WCN) will this year hold its 24th edition at Dubai World Trade Centre.
Hosted by the Emirates Neurology Society, WCN will bring together leading scientists, public health experts and policy makers, with the overarching purpose of putting recent scientific advances into action.
The congress consists of scientific sessions, teaching courses and business meetings. The agenda is built around active discussions and cutting‐edge lectures, delivered by world-leading scientists and neurologists in fields including clinical medicine and research. The three main aims are: to catalyse and advance scientific knowledge; to more effectively address regional, national and local barriers that limit access to prevention, care and services; and to engage key, new and non-traditional stakeholders across the world.
The 2019 theme – ‘Accelerating the pace of change’ – reflects the region’s potential. MENA is seen as a springboard for advancing neurology world-wide, in both scientific and clinical aspects – a key goal of the World Federation of Neurology.
WCN will also feature the ninth edition of ‘The Tournament of the Minds’; an opportunity for participants to interact with colleagues, test intellectual tenacity and demonstrate national pride, by competing in country teams on various aspects of neurology.
