Landing in the Middle East for the first time, the K-Content Expo is an event of growing global impact – and a compelling blend of business and fun.
Attendees will mix the commercial benefit of meeting numerous Korean companies in one-on-one sessions, with the enjoyment of experiencing the nation’s culture and entertainment: not least through a K-pop concert on the second day, set to draw a large audience for one of the hottest trends in music right now.
The Expo is organised by the Korea Creative Content Agency, a government body working to advance the country’s creative industries on the world stage.
Over the first two days, the focus is on networking, with opportunities to meet potential partners. More than 35 Korean companies will attend from sectors including broadcasting, animation, character licensing, gaming, new media and technologies such as VR and AR. Over day two and three, there is also a full programme of events and exhibitions.
In the middle is the concert; a chance to experience first-hand the K-pop phenomenon. Nearly half a dozen artists will feature, with hugely popular Seventeen topping the bill, alongside SF9, singer Punch, DJs Beatpella and Hiss & Yella, and actress Ha Ji Won.
