Hemaya International Forum and Exhibition on Drug Issues is one of the most significant events to be held at Dubai World Trade Centre. It provides a much-needed platform for discussing the prevalence of drug abuse in the region, raising awareness about its dangers and identifying solutions that can be implemented to eradicate it.
Organised by Dubai Police in cooperation with the United Nations and a number of regional and international partners, the 13th edition of the forum will be held under the theme “Foreseeing the Future of the Global Combat of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances: Predictions, Preparations and Prevention Strategies for 2030”.
The objective of the event is to extend standardised knowledge and information to those involved in drug control, and strengthen the cooperation between different anti-drug authorities locally, regionally and globally. The new features in the 2018 edition are a number of specialised training workshops for drug control agencies; a devoted Youth Dialogue Session, where the young generation can actively contribute by giving their innovative solutions to combat the menace; and a platform for social media influencers, which aims to counter drugs through virtual alliances built on popular networking sites.
The exhibition that will run alongside the forum will showcase the latest products and services of 40 regional and international organisations. These companies include the National Service and Reserve Authority, Dubai Customs, Nebras Program (The National Committee for Combating Drugs in Saudi Arabia), the Anti-Drug Council of the United Arab Emirates and many reputed pharmaceutical brands.
Drug control agencies, physicians, pharmacists, health and therapeutic personnel, as well as officials from the judicial, customs, civil society and education field will be attending this event.
