After a successful launch last year, the Dubai Optical Show Vision-X (DOSV-X) is returning in 2019.
As the MENA region’s only trade event bringing the latest products, trends and developments in optometry, ophthalmology and optistyle together, the show fills a major market gap – for manufacturers, suppliers and distributors.
Recognising this, the organisers are strongly positioning this year’s event as a B2B matchmaking platform. DOSV-X aims to facilitate three days of opportunities – firstly, for buyers to connect with the global eyewear and eye care industry, and secondly, through offering exhibitors access to 20 pre-arranged buyers from the Middle East, Mediterranean, Africa and Indian sub continents.
The inaugural event drew buyers from 71 countries. Exhibitors came from the UAE and 16 other nations, including Argentina, Malaysia, Korea and France. In addition to individual exhibitors, there were two national pavilions, with Germany’s Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs & Energy supporting the presence of 11 German exhibitors, and the Italian Trade Agency managing the attendance of 20 Italian exhibitors.
A similar format is planned for 2019, and the event is promising an even stronger line-up of industry announcements and participation from international and regional innovators and known fashion eyewear brands.
