Weddings aren’t just memorable life moments for individuals. They’re also big business.
A recent report from IBISWorld estimated that around US$3bn is spent on weddings across the Gulf region every year, suggesting the bride and groom sector in this part of the world is more vibrant than ever. A similar 2017 study from the UAE’s Zayed University found that, on average, US$187,000 is spent on an Emirati wedding. In Dubai itself, the typical range across all nationalities is between US$80,000 and US$135,000.
BRIDE Dubai is a key part of this booming industry. Attracting the biggest names from fashion, beauty, jewellery, home and destinations, the show brings together the entire wedding sector, and acts as a shop window for brides, couples and families planning upcoming nuptials.
Last year, 9,710 visitors attended BRIDE Dubai, 94 per cent of whom were female and 74 per cent Emirati. In addition, over three quarters of the companies who exhibited said they secured orders during the event that turned their participation into a profit.
