Established in 1983 and headquartered in Spain, the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) is an international body that brings together the world’s securities regulators. Setting the global standard for the securities sector, IOSCO regulates more than 95 per cent of the world's securities markets and covers more than 115 jurisdictions.
Integral to IOSCO’s agenda and activities is its annual conference. In 2020, the 45th edition will take place at Dubai World Trade Centre, marking the first time the event has been held in the UAE.
The conference is an important forum for IOSCO members to discuss pressing issues related to world securities and futures markets. These members – ordinary, associate and affiliate – include national securities commissions, government branches, representatives of bodies such as the IMF and World Bank, as well as self-regulatory organisations, stock exchanges, financial market infrastructures, investor protection funds and compensation funds, and other bodies with an interest in securities regulation.
